Basic Electricity Course
INTRODUCTION:
HellermannTyton recently launched the HellermannTyton training academy to facilitate and bridge the technical skills gap in the Electrical wholesale industry. The initial course offered is aimed at the sales person with limited or no basic electrical background. This will be followed by application, product and specific training as required by customers and the market. These requirements will be determined by ongoing surveys and feedback on training provided.
AIM, EXPECTATIONS, QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

What does the course cover?

The initial module will cover aspects of basic electricity e.g.
- symbols used in electricity,
- the generation and distribution of electricity,
- the application of ohm's law,
- measuring instruments to mention but a few.

The course will equip the new or inexperienced sales person with the skills to effectively offer sound advice to
customers.

More advanced modules will be added in future.

What format will it follow?
- Interactive, practical and theory.

What will the duration be?

Two full days per module. From 8:30 to 15:30 each day

Where will it be held?
-
Initially at HellermannTyton head office in Linbro Business Park, Johannesburg.

Once satisfied with the progress arrangements will be made in the main centers throughout SA to accommodate all our
customers.

Who must attend?
-
All new sales personnel with limited or no experience in the electrical field.

Experienced counter-sales personnel who want refresh their knowledge of basic electricity.

The more advanced courses will include product, application and how to select and offer the correct product and advise
to customers. This will be suitable for the more experienced sales personnel.

How many trainees will be accommodated in each course?

12 to 16 Maximum. We strive to keep the sessions interactive and participative as well as offer individual attention.

What language will be used?

English will be the medium of instruction.

Our facilitator is able to converse in a number of languages and will be able to explain specific points not clearly
understood due to English not being the trainee's primary language

Will there be an assessment at the end of the course?

An assessment that will cover both the practical and theory will be conducted at the end of each module.

Who will present the course?

The course will be offered by HellermannTyton’s competent and experienced training personnel.

What requirements are there for attending?

There are no formal academic qualifications needed to attend.

The trainee must be able to read and write.

Trainees must be made available for two consecutive days.

Will certificates be issued?
-
Certificates of attendance will be issued after each module.

At present the training is not accredited by the SETA. Our aim is have the courses registered with the relevant
SETA's.
